Dane McFarland

Dane grew up with entrepreneurship in his blood. His grandfather created and headed several steel erection companies. His father, who worked as an aeronautical engineer at Boeing and Lockheed Martin, currently heads his own venture in programming game-changing software for aeronautics. These examples propelled him to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship from Brigham Young University – Idaho. During that time, he became hooked on the world of financial planning and ended up serving as President of the BYU-I Wealth Management Society which he helped to create.

After joining the Heritage team in March 2020, Dane has been building out the plans for our clients. As part of the Financial Planning team and working closely with the Operations team, he walks with our clients through every step of their financial plan: from start to continued relationship.

Tackling the challenges that businesses and individuals face and tailoring the plans to what his clients need and want—that is what makes him tick. His perspective with his clients: “With all of the things you’re doing in your life, if you’re not enjoying at least 80% of it then there needs to be a change. You can be tired; your mind can be fried; you can be absolutely run-out by the end of the day — but you need to enjoy it.”

When not at Heritage, Dane also loves fitness. He’s worked as a CrossFit Coach for the past 5 years training, motivating, and programming for several gyms and many clients. Dane is married to his lovely wife, Kate, and they are approaching 4 years of marriage in July. They have no children yet, but they are excited to raise some Tennesseans in the future!
