Justin A. Goodbread founded Heritage Investors, LLC in 2009. His primary focus is comprehensive financial planning. Additionally Justin holds a special interest in advanced investment management and tax planning. Justin completed the CFP®board exam in November 2006 and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Management from the University of Phoenix in 2009.  

 

His previous history includes earning an Associate’s degree in Horticulture from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Tifton, Georgia, in 2000. Justin became a young entrepreneur as owner of a landscape nursery and installation company that he later sold. He was then employed with American Express Financial Advisors in Knoxville, Tennessee. Before founding Heritage Investors in 2009, Justin was invited to become an owner and CEO of another Knoxville based financial planning firm.

 

Justin stays on the cusp of what is going on in the financial world and spends a lot of time reviewing market trends and financial analyses as they relate to business, taxes, and asset management. 

The love of his life is Emily. They were married in 2002 and now have three beautiful children: Savannah, Justus, and Jude.  The three ‘stinkers’ keep a smile on his face, and you are sure to hear an exciting story when you speak with him.

Justin enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, farming a huge vegetable garden, and participating in triathlons.  He is a member of Valley View Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN, and a member of several professional organizations.

Jim L. De Tar joined Heritage Investors, LLC in 2009.  His primary role is that of a registered assistant. He successfully completed the CFP® board exam in July 2009.  

 

Jim earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University,  Ames, Iowa, in 1984,  and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa, in 1992.   He entered the financial services industry in 2002 and later became an equity partner in a Knoxville based planning firm in 2004. Jim’s previous employment includes holding management positions for Cargill, Inc. and other processing plants in Iowa, Minnesota, and Tennessee.
